Join us at the 2025 Annual Conference of the Association of Greek Librarians & Information Scientists (AGLIS), organized in cooperation with Kalabaka Library, which will take place from 11 to 13 June 2025, in the picturesque town of Kalabaka.

This year’s subject is:  “Democracy of knowledge and the threats of misinformation”, invites to a substantial examination of libraries and information centers role, in promoting access to accurate information in an era where misinformation increases rapidly. The democracy of Knowledge is an emerging concept that addresses the relationships between production and dissemination of knowledge. How to build trust in libraries, which play a key role in providing open access information to  users  in order to beat, misinformation on social media.

We will meet in Kalabaka, a region well known for its enchanting landscapes. Kalabaka is also a rich cultural heritage.  Our aim is to promote cooperation between all kinds of libraries and professionals. This conference is a vibrant meeting point for librarians, archive experts, information specialists and people interested in library services. Together, we will explore innovative strategies to preserve the integrity of knowledge dissemination and misinformation restriction.

Conference participants are expected to attend a variant program with keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops designed to inspire, inform and prepare participants with practical tools to improve their professional practice. We encourage all members of the library community to engage in meaningful dialogue about the challenges libraries face and the solutions we can implement to ensure that knowledge remains a democratic resource accessible to all.

We look forward to welcoming you to a constructive, unique experience at this year’s conference, where together we can strengthen our commitment to guard the values of transparency to information access.
